Optimistic, Christ Follower, Lover of Laughter and Forever an Auburn Tiger
About Me
I grew up in Opelika, Ala., as the youngest of two sons in the Holladay family. Being a Holladay is an experience that I continue to enjoy, and the best way to describe my family is to watch the commercial below. We are the family that sings, loves, laughs and travels together.
My journey to college took me 15 minutes down the road to Auburn University. Even though I have always grown up as an Auburn fan, I was unprepared for how much of an impact Auburn University would have on me. Yes, I am the person that always travels with orange and blue and a tiger tail on my luggage, and if you are wearing anything Auburn, be prepared to hear me yell, "War Eagle!"
Auburn has also helped me discover public relations. Maybe it is because my last name is Holladay, but one of my favorite times of the year is Christmas, and I love decorating Christmas trees! Receiving the Hallmark Christmas ornament catalog in the mail was enough to keep me occupied for weeks as a child, and one of my first career aspirations was to be the next great Hallmark ornament designer. That dream sadly ended, and I began my college career as an industrial and systems engineering major.
After participating in the Co-Op program at Auburn and working as an industrial engineer for one semester, I realized that was not the career path for me. Before college, I had never heard of public relations as a major, but I had some friends who were majoring in it. After hearing about their classes, I decided to learn more about the major and the public relations field. PR has become the perfect fit for me because of my love for problem solving. Whether it is figuring out how to organize a story, promote a campaign or analyze statistical outputs, I enjoy the opportunities public relations affords me to be creative and solve problems.
